U.S. Department of Energy National Renewable Energy Laboratory Project
Merrick is the process, mechanical, electrical, and civil engineering design lead on a team that is designing and building a new Integrated Biorefinery Research Facility for the U.S. Department of Energy’s National Renewable Energy Laboratory. The purpose of this facility will be to conduct cutting edge research and development on cellulosic ethanol production. Merrick was chosen for this important, nationally recognized task due to its broad and deep knowledge of technologies and systems key to the project.

On the hydrocarbon processing side, Merrick performs process simulation and expertly prepares full plant design packages including process flow diagrams, piping and instrumentation diagrams, and detailed piping plans and isometrics for shop fabrication.
