Mr. Langevin is considered, globally, as a laboratory design and containment expert in all aspects and phases for the planning, architectural programming, design, construction, commissioning, and operation of various categories and levels of BSL-2, 3, and 4 laboratories. In addition to authoring numerous publications and guidelines, he has provided lab planning, design, and advisory services for biological containment control, hazardous chemicals, and operations of laboratories for clients worldwide. Paul provides laboratory training and BSL-3 design seminars to various organizations including the American Biological Safety Association and, as the director of laboratory design services for Merrick, he provides technical leadership on BSL-3/4 projects.

As vice president of Merrick Canada ULC, Mr. Ellis serves as one of the firm’s international, high containment experts and, as such, he is well versed in the international guidelines and regulations applicable to those laboratories. Sandy is experienced in the planning, design, construction, and management of technically complex laboratory projects, with his experience including cleanrooms and chemical, pharmaceutical, and medical device manufacturing laboratories. Sandy’s focus biological containment laboratories and animal facilities includes biosafety Level 3 (BSL-3) and biosafety Level 4 (BSL-4) containment.

Mr. Tremblay has extensive experience in the controls and commissioning industry, with expertise in laboratory, high containment facilities, hospital, and pharmaceutical. As laboratory facilities have become much more complex and challenging, new methods of start-up and testing are being employed to ensure that each facility will function as intended. Mr. Tremblay is an expert in this field and specializes in the commissioning, start-up process, management of critical control systems, and the integration with various subsystems. He has served as a technical advisor in the controls and fail-safe operation of high containment facilities.

Throughout his career, Dr. Ross has specialized in veterinary and infectious diseases. His significant background in the management and operation of infectious disease and diagnostic laboratories provides Merrick’s clients with an experienced scientific viewpoint built over a 26-year career as a commissioned officer in the U.S. Army. Dr. Graham’s overseas postings confirmed his talents in effectively working with highly technical project teams, international health agencies, and ministries of health and agriculture.

As senior mechanical engineer and project manager, Chris has over 16 years of experience in HVAC design, construction administration and commissioning of technically complex laboratory projects and a wide range of commercial, industrial and government facilities. He is well versed in domestic and international guidelines and standards and has focused on biological containment laboratories and animal facilities including BSL-3, BSL-3Ag and BSL-4 facilities. He focuses on the application of mechanical systems designed to protect people, products, facility, and the lab environment where listed select agents and toxins are used and handled. Chris is an expert in providing and integrating simple cost effective solutions to meet the highly complex requirements of these facilities.
