Through a complete array of in-house planning, design, and biofuels/biochemicals engineering services, Merrick assists clients in all aspects of biofuels/biochemicals commercialization, from lab-scale research and development through pilot plant and commercial-scale technology and systems deployment. This includes advanced biofuels, biochemicals, cellulosic ethanol, biomass, biodiesel, biogas, algae biofuels, biobutanol, thermochemical ethanol production, and carbon credits.

Wind/Solar Energy

With a 55-year history in energy and transmission, Merrick has continued to build its focus on renewable energy. For the past 15 years, Merrick has been involved in biofuels and, as the renewables market has grown in wind, we’ve expanded our services to meet those demands. The firm’s wind energy team is led by Matt West, who with the Merrick team, brings a strong resume to our clients. A sampling of the team’s work includes light detection and ranging (LiDAR) data collection and processing for a 432-square-mile wind farm in Baja, project design and management for several projects for Horizon Wind Energy, design of multiple substations for Empire Electric Association, and surveying and LiDAR services for multiple transmission corridors for Xcel Energy.
