Ralph W. Christie, Jr. serves as chairman, president, and CEO of Merrick & Company, a professional services firm with annual revenues exceeding $100 million. Elected president and CEO in January 1997, Mr. Christie was subsequently elected chairman of the Board of Directors in June 1997. He has been with Merrick since April 1992. From its multiple offices Merrick provides engineering, architecture, geospatial, surveying, and construction management services to public and private sector clients, nationwide, and in niche markets internationally.

Mr. Christie has 35 years of technical and management experience in the engineering and construction industries. He is a registered professional engineer in Colorado and Pennsylvania. In 1973, he earned a bachelor’s of science degree in civil engineering from the University of Cincinnati. In 1979, he graduated with a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Pittsburgh.

Mr. Christie is a founding board member of the Colorado Space Business Roundtable and is currently co-chair of the Colorado Space Coalition. He served as chair of the board for the Aurora Economic Development Council in 2002. He is an active board member for the Denver Metro Chamber of Commerce, the Southeast Business Partnership, and the Aurora Economic Development Council. In May 2006, Mr. Christie became a director on the Colorado State Bank and Trust’s Board of Directors.

In 2002, Mr. Christie received the Distinguished Alumnus Award from the University of Cincinnati. He has been an active advisory board member for the University of Cincinnati College of Civil/Environmental Engineering and the University of Colorado at Denver Engineering Leadership Council. Since 2004, Mr. Christie has been a visiting lecturer for leadership topics at the University of Denver Business School for its MBA program.

The Aurora Chamber of Commerce named Ralph Christie “Man of the Year for 2002” for his business and community leadership. The October 2001 ColoradoBiz Magazine also named him as one of Colorado’s top CEOs.

In May 2005, Mr. Christie gave the keynote commencement address at the graduation of the Colorado State University Engineering College in Fort Collins, Colorado.

Ralph Christie received a certificate for attending and participating in the Harvard University Graduate School of Design, The Challenges of Leadership Program, in February 2007.
